Mount Austin has grown around its commercial street, Austin Heights and its international schools, with IKEA Tebrau, AEON Mall Tebrau City, Toppen Shopping Centre and Sultan Ismail Hospital within a few kilometres. Taman Ponderosa, beside Ponderosa Golf and Country Resort, is its neighbour to the south.
